Beach bar Levante beach

The view from the restaurant
We first went to Levante beach in Rhodes, Greece two years ago, just two weeks after it opened and we enjoyed it so much we decided to return. I did a lot of research into places for family holidays both times and I found Mark Warner was one of the few places with a kids club which didn’t charge extra if your child is over two (there is a charge under 2 years old and they take from 4 months old). It also was one of the few holiday companies where the reservations team actually knew what went on in kids club!

windsurfing lessons
Included in the price is a morning or afternoon of kids club for under 5’s or all day with a break for lunch for the 6 year+ crowd. We went for mornings which are 9.30 to 12.30 (we chose not to put our eldest in all day) and they are taken swimming, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, tennis, sand castles on the beach, the list is endless.

Milly learning to windsurf
Inside they do general play, painting, water play, face painting, party games and lots more. The staff are brilliant and very caring and they’ll come and get you if your little one needs you. My older two (6 and 4) loved every minute and couldn’t wait to hang out with her friends.
There’s a kids dinner 5.15-6.15pm, another sign they really know how to cater for kids’ routines with lots of favourites – pasta, lasagne, shepherds pie, fish fingers, chips, chicken and ice cream, cake or fruit for desert.

The resort at night
We often had dinner and a stroll to the beach, enjoying proper adults time before collecting them.

Rooms – Our room last time was one of the many suites surrounding the main pool and this year we were in an interconnecting room in the main hotel (the best choice with 3 kids) with a bathroom in each, overlooking the tennis centre. I heard there are also private pools available on the beach end of the resort but with so many pools to choose from, I don’t really see why you’d need it.

The beach pool
Swimming pools – there is an 84 meter main pool, a baby pool next to it and an adults only pool at the other end (where I spent most child-free mornings and even read books!) You then have a pool overlooking the beach where the teenagers seem to gravitate towards with a cool pool bar and there is also an indoor pool at the spa – massage, facials and the usual available.
ALL the staff were great, again not something you can say about many places (and I’m pretty fussy!) the restaurant staff were always happy and helpful even when your child created a Jackson Pollak display of food under their high chair. All the Mark Warner staff were English, many were there in their summer break from University and they seem to really enjoy what they do.

Trying out diving in the pool
As you can tell I’m a big fan (as is my husband, who’s even harder to please on a holiday than me!). We will no doubt, be back again and we may even try out their ski holidays too.
