Years ago my Mum bought a Thermomix and gave us all the Thermomix obsession too. What is it? It’s the most incredible cooking machine, it is great for risotto, soups, breads, white sauce, mayonnaise and even ice cream. It boasts 12 functions including kneading, milling, mixing, heating, blending, steaming and chopping and has been a big part of my cooking for the last 13 years. In August 2017 I had a demo from a lovely lady who showed me the newest model, the TM5, and WOW! I was totally blown away. Given I like to be doing a million things at once, I decided to become a Thermomix advisor and I trained in April 2018. It works quite well alongside my photography as I’m meeting lots of new people locally and I’ve ended up with a few new photography clients from it too. I’ve been having such a great time going to people’s houses and cooking with them, it’s fun and social and it’s nice to do something a little different to keep things interesting!

A very wet day for my demo!
As I am totally bonkers, I somehow ended up presenting the Thermomix at Lymington’s Seafood Festival in their demo kitchen! I had 45 minutes and when I saw the line up on their website, it turned out I was pretty much the only person who wasn’t a professional chef! I had a fantastic time, the weather was hideous but we still had a pretty big crowd and loved every minute of it. Nearly every chef I spoke to had a Thermomix and so did a few of those watching my session in the demo kitchen.
If you’d like to see it in action do get in touch, you can contact me on my usual email – kjphotographic@mac.com
