I discovered a new play cafe in Kingston, The Secret Garden Play Cafe opened in December 2015, it’s over two floors with a cafe and toys on the top floor and a large play room downstairs. They have different sessions and activities that happen downstairs, a sensory play for little ones, crafty tales and a toddler run. The main cafe is free and you just pay for the activities downstairs.
It’s best to get there on foot as there aren’t many pay and display parking bays, buggies are left outside to keep the space clear. There’s a little enclosed area with baby toys for really little ones, wheelie bugs, a mini kitchen and other toys fill the upstairs and my three year old had a great time playing while I chatted to Danielle, the ex nanny owner who runs The Secret Garden. She has loads of lovely food, a decent kids menu and good coffee so it’s perfect for a get together with mummy friends.
Word seems to have already got round as there were lots of mums with little ones piling in for the 10am sensory play, you can see from my photos how lovely the room looked before the little hands got hold of it all. http://secretgardenplaycafe.co.uk
